I was so touched to be hand-picked by Marg to photograph her and John's big day. Even with COVID-19 regulations and a limited number of guests, they managed to transform the Alberta Room at the Sheraton Cavalier into a magical oasis that reminded me of a romantic evening in Paris (the twinkling lights looked like the Eiffel Tower's!).
But the real magic here is the story of Marg and John. They've known each other for almost 40 years and have been a couple for 23 of those years. Family and their love for others are at the heart of everything they do. Whether they're including their children in the wedding party, having a touching blended family unity as part of their ceremony, or going out of their way to make sure everyone felt safe at the hotel (including me).
There were so many great highlights throughout the evening that it's hard to capture them in a few words. But, everyone made me feel comfortable and welcome as if I was apart of their family. We shared many laughs during the speeches, got misty-eyed during the vows, and shared the best steak dinner I've ever had with cheesecake for dessert. Marg and John are an incredible couple, and I honestly wish I could've spent more time hearing about their trips to the Caribbean, how they fell in love, and about all of the wonderful years they've spent together.
Cheers to Marg and John!
